In an exciting piece of recruiting news, two of Europe’s top prospects, Kariem Al Soufi and Martin Veinberg, have been given offers by the Florida Gators.
The pair are both behemoth offensive linemen, who pair size with impressive athleticism to dominate on the football field.
Al Soufi plays in Germany for the Paderborn Dolphins, and has developed a reputation amongst teammates and opposition alike as one of the best players in the country. Standing at 6’3 and weighing an impressive 334 lbs, Al Soufi was instrumental in the Dolphins’ 2017 championship win. He has already received offers from Towson and Georgia, as well as one from Ohio State to play DL. To read more about the young ‘baller, see our interview with him earlier in the season here.
Veinberg, meanwhile, is looking to join fellow Helsinki Roosters alumnus Chris Mulamba stateside with this offer. At 6’9, the young Fin towers over the majority of his opposition, and this height and length is undoubtedly what attracted the Gators to him in the first place. Like Al Soufi, Veinberg has also received an offer to play on the Offensive line from Towson.
To have such a prestigious programme extend offers to European players is a huge boon for the sport in Europe, and can go a long way to providing inspiration for young European talents looking to progress further in the sport.
