EE: How does it feel to be committed and know you will be Playing at Cal next year?
JF: It just feels great. Finally knowing that you have the opportunity to play at the next level and knowing where is great. I’m very thankful to be able to attend a such great University like Berkeley and playing at a Power 5 Conference.
EE: What other schools did you have offers from?
JF: I had offers from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Dartmouth.
EE: What made you decide to commit to Cal?
JF: I love the Campus and Facilities at Cal and it is one of the best academic opportunity you can get worldwide. I also really like the Coaching Staff and what they are building.
EE: Was there another school that you almost choose instead of Cal ?
JF: No and I doubt that I’d decide otherwise if I had more options.
EE: You left Germany to play high school football in California and now you will be playing college football in California, is it safe to say California is your new favorite place?
JF: I didn’t see too much from the US, but yes, California is amazing and way better weather than Germany, that’s for sure.
EE: How are you doing in School academically?
JF: I’m doing pretty good. My GPA at this moment is a 3.7 but I am trying to finish with a 3.8 or higher!
EE: How are your parents feeling about you staying in California? Have they come to visit you?
JF: They miss me but they are happy that I can play football in the US and that I will be able to play College Football. It great having their support. They didn’t visit me yet, but for sure they will.
EE: What is your message to other international players who want to play High school or college football in the Unites States?
JF: If you have a dream, don’t let people tell you that you can’t. Work hard, be coachable and be a better athlete and person every day.
