This past saturday the college football world witnessed the #1 international recruit in the class of 2022 select his university of choice. 6’5ft and 293lbs Hero Kanu of Geltendorf, Germany took a risk by moving to the US in 2020 to play high school football in the state of California. His commitment announcment to play for Ohio State in the fall of 2022 is a testament to his hardwork and determination.
2020 was a challenging year for many athletes around the world. But the coronavirus pandemic was not enough to block Kanu from his destined journey with football. Kanu played high school football for Santa Margarita against some the best competiton in the United States. In his first season Hero recorded recorded 28 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in just five games. It was stats like this coupled with a solid camp tour performance that caught every college football coaches attention over the past year. Recently we had a chance to talk to Hero about his experince.
