The national signing day is a significant day for the student-athletes all around the world. Signing day , February 3rd , marks the beginning of the college football team’s signing session. This day is not to be confused with early national signing period for college football which is December 20th of every year. Early national signing day has become very popular in recent years, especially when it comes to international recruits, which makes college football recruiting very competitive.
The recruiting cycle for the class of 2022 is slowly coming to an end as signing day approaches us this week. But many top international athletes who have the potential to play college football are still undecided or under recruited.
Of the top 150 international prospect that have been included in the Europe’s Elite rankings for the 2022 class, 38 athletes in the top 50 have yet to announce their respective commitments. Several of which are very surprising to us and many other college football fans. This group of uncommitted players is headlined by several three star prospects.
With that being said, we have decided to shed light on some the top uncommitted prospects in the 2022 class and where we think they could play college football in 2022.
Has college ready size and strength for at position. Shows a solid first punch at times. Impressive open-field athleticism when lead-blocking down field for his size. Demolishes second-level defenders and looks for extra work in space. Can improve hand placement consistency. Good athlete that can continue to improve balance and body control in space like many other rising athletes, Weight may be a question mark for some recruiters, but with proper conditioning he will remain competitive. Ready-to-play run blocker, film shows he is tenacious in run blocking, but would love to see him improve his technical skills in pass protection. Could potentially play multiple offensive line spots . but is primarily a tackle. Could compete for a starting college position in the right system at the FBS or FCS level.
Has an ideal frame for a big body receiver or tight end prospect. Great height and large wing span to help with catch radius. Could serve as a great flex tight end in eleven personnel or blocking slot at the point of a formation. Great athleticism in the air , makes high pointing the football look natural. Has enough athleticism to defeat the jam of a linebacker or defensive back at the line of scrimmage and still get into his route .Comes from a proven youth program in south Germany where he is well coached and faced consistent competition. Has proven that he can play tight end , wide receiver or defensive end. Already has several D1 offers from Eastern Michigan University and Florida Atlantic. Can block well , but can still improve under the right coaching. Some may consider his talents to be raw but this kid is ready to compete at the D1 college football. Has adequate speed, athleticism to compete in a conference such as the MAC, American, Sun Belt, Mountain West or, Big Sky if put in the right system .
Looks like a grown man coming off the edge against his competition. Has been mistaken at camps to be a parent of another athlete because of his legitimate size. Stege stands at a legit 6-foot-4 and 250 pound frame, and still has room to grow. But his size is not the most impressive part of his game, its his freakish athleticism and motor off the ball. Watching his first steps off the ball is comparable to the likes of university of Michigan sensation Aidan Hutchinson. Has a wingspan to cover two gaps at once, combined with high level of quickness to chase down runners from behind. Has shown on tape that he can be or edge rusher or play the inside 3 technique. Displays great power and explosiveness on the point of contact. Also understands when and how to use effective pass rush moves on the field. Comes from a championship background where he has won U19 championships in Germany with the Cologne Crocodiles. Already has one scholarship offer from the University of Idaho. But college football coaches from the likes of the University of Indiana and, the University of Virginia have shown interest.
Rasmus Nyholm Lass Jensen – DL – Denmark
Verified at 6-foot-6 and 235-pound athlete from Demark. Has the ideal athletic frame for the college football level and is not done growing. Has verified combine testing data which includes his 80 inch wingspan and 4.9 in his 40 yard dash. One word can be used to summarize Rasmus, POTENTIAL. Has potential to continue to grow into an elite frame while he continues to get bigger faster and stronger throughout his development. Plays with a consistent low pad level and understands how to use his wing span to his advantage. Comes off the edge with high effort and energy , but maintains a solid level of awareness to not over run the play. Understands the strengths of his game and uses them to his advantage, can continue to improve hand fighting and pass rush moves. Skill set is being developed at the NFL Academy in London. Can definitely be an immediate impact player at the FCS D1 level or compete for a roster spot at the FBS level.
Kofi Taylor – LB – United Kingdom
Well put together athlete standing at 6-foot-3 and 220 pound. Solid build and frame that will continue to grow. Clearly athletic enough to chase down a ball carrier from the backside of the play, also has natural instinct to sift through traffic and avoid blockers. Preforms position drills with impressive footwork and pad level , which he naturally translates onto the football field. Appears to play faster than his verified 4.7 forty yard dash time. Has flashes of filling gaps and reading out plays from the linebacker position at an elite level. Possess the athleticism and IQ to drop back into zone coverage when need. Also has shown to have adequate speed and strength to cover a running back out of the backfield. Is being well coached at NFL Academy in London . Already has one scholarship offer from Michigan State University. Surely can compete for a roster spot at a major college football program.
