Europes Elite had a chance to sit with 2019 prospect Jamal Pittner of the Vienna Vikings as they just wrapped up their regular season in the U17 division.
Europe’s Elite: First question So tell us what inspired you to play football?
JP: I always wanted to do a Team sport so my mother got me playing football at the age of 10 and since then I fell in love with it and football became my life.
Europe’s Elite: what’s your current height and weight?
JP: I’m six feet and five inches tall and 223 pounds.
Europe’s Elite: so tell us how the season went for you guys and what’s in store for the playoffs?
JP: We’re now 5-1 we loss to the Graz Giants and it hurt pretty bad. we have not loss a game in 5 years so we dropped from 1st to the 3rd place only because the other 2 teams scored more points than us but all of us 3 are 4-1. we wanted to set a statement last week playing the last regular season game and the 4 ranked team in the nation the Vienna Knights. by beating them 44-0 and bounced back to being ranked number 2 in the country and have home advantage for our first playoff game.
Europe’s Elite: Who’s your favorite college team and why?
JP: My favorite college football team is the Clemson Tigers because of Vic Beasley who is my favorite pass rusher and role model. Also players like Deshaun Watson, Deandre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins.
Europe’s Elite: what makes Austrian Football different from other European countries?
JP: I think what makes Austria different from other countries is that every team in Austria is doing a good job teaching the game at a young age and to develop good athletes over the years.
Thank you so much Jamal and good luck next week as you guys play the #4 ranked Swarco Raiders in Sunday, November 5th at Ravelin stadium in Vienna.
