We are proud to announce the addition of coach Jarvis Johnson to the Scholar Athlete Expo in Vienna Austria July 15-21 2018. Coach Jarvis Johnson hails from the Sunshine State of Florida and comes to us with an impressive resume. His college coaching career began at Clark Atlanta University as an Assistant Secondary Coach, then he went to Kean University as a Defensive Back Coach, followed by the University of Miami as a Liaison for Athletics and Academics Program coach and currently coach Johnson is coaching at Lafayette College and works with Student-Athletes Academic Support. Coach Johnson and Ballers Get Degrees will be leading the Academic portion of the camp showing our campers what are the requirements to applying and being accepted into colleges for scholarships.
Raised in Liberty City, one of the toughest areas in Miami, FL, for coach Johnson excelling in the classroom, and on the field, opened doors for him to be recruited by one of the top university’s known for prestige, academics, and athletics Rutgers University. At Rutgers he was a Bronko-Nagurski Award Candidate, earned Big East All American Honors, All ECAC Team Big East Conference, was Team Captain, and was team M.V.P. After Johnson graduated from Rutgers University, he played professionally in the N.F.L. for the Baltimore Ravens.
After Retiring from the NFL, he started with a Non-Profit Organization by the name of Jarvis Johnson International Foundation, Inc. The foundation’s objectives were to empower Student-Athletes with online education, mentorship, and introduce to international sport camps. After much success coach Johnson decided to go a step further to help scholars archive success in the classroom with his foundation Ballers Get Degrees. Ballers Get Degrees is an educational firm that is geared toward assisting high school, college and professional athletes in obtaining their highest level of education possible.
Ballers Get Degrees helps students get on, or stay on track to graduate high school. Whether getting ready for college or the world of work, our mentors, certified teachers, and tutors will work with you to make sure you have the tools and skills you need to succeed. Preparation for ACT, Advanced Placement (AP), SAT, and PSAT exams are available. And for students interested in the world of work or a “gap year” after high school, we also prepare you for entry into emerging career fields and entrepreneurship opportunities with resume preparation, interview techniques, business etiquette and more.
