A new non-profit organization in the state of Texas says that it will provide every offensive lineman at the University of Texas, who is on scholarship , with $50,000 annually. This in exchange for the use of the players name, image and likeness to support a charitable causes.
The organization’s name is Horns with Heart.Horns with Heart is a nonprofit 501c3 that was created to empower Texas athletes to make positive impacts on their communities and charities that are close to their hearts while utilizing NIL. The current program for the offensive lineman will start in August 2022, and is rightfully called The Pancake Factory. But the Heart with Horns hopes to expand it to other football position groups and Longhorns athletes in the future.
The Pancake Factory will surely serve as a valuable recruiting tool for prospective athletes. Any young offensive line recruit would be interested in the University of Texas once they see that their starting annual NIL compensation in will be an annual $50,000. That’s merely the starting figure; other NIL deals for linemen certainly are possible. But the directors of Hearts with Horns has made a statement that it was not his intention to make this program in order for it to be a recruiting tool for the Long Horns.
