The Italy vs Spain game was dominated by team Itlay. Italy was led by QB Zerbo Alessandro who was arguably the best offensive player on the field.
Zerbo threw the ball 26 times completing 15 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite targets were Jacob Bindini (5 catches, 35 yards, 1 TD), Francisco Gianfelici (5 catches, 33 yards) and Fillippo Petrillo (4 catches, 92 yards, 1 TD).
Defensively Italy’s DL was dominant, their pre-snap movement created problems for Spain’s offensive line all night long. As a whole Italy’s defense only allowed team Spain offense to a total of 80 Yards.
Italy’s DL #88 Rosi Leonardo spent most of the night in Spains backfield racking up 5 tackles, two of them for losses. He shared Spains backfield with fellow DL #90 Cazzaniga Riccardo appling pressure to Spains QB.
Although Spain did not have the performance they wanted there were still some bright spots. On offense, one of the youngest players in the tournament WR Lucas Bermudez Garcia made some big time catches for team spain. On defense, #55 Alvaro Emilio Sanchez was all over the field. Even though he was outsized by team Italys Offensive Tackles Alvaro remained a constant threat to team Itlay. SS #17 Eric Gracia Zapata had a early interception as well as several pass break ups.
Overall Italy’s offense had a hot start in the first half putting up 14 unanswered points. In the 2nd half team Spain’s defense stepped up and held Italy to only 10 2nd half points. Team Italy came away with a 24-0 win and will face team Finland in the final on Friday.
